Chwilę wcześniej Krzysztof Szubarga po długim przetrzymaniu piłki, fantastycznym wejściem pod kosz i lay-upem zapewnił swojemu zespołowi zwycięskie trafienie. Asseco wygrało i znów puka do pierwszej ósemki.
Po wyrównanym początku, przewagę zaczęli zdobywać gospodarze. W pewnym momencie zanotowali serię 9:0 i po trafieniu Filipa Puta prowadzili już 22:10. Straty odrabiali D.J. Shelton i Witalij Kowalenko, ale to Asseco po 10 minutach wygrywało sześcioma punktami. W drugiej kwarcie dzięki Krzysztofowi Szubardze i Marcelowi Ponitce przewaga Asseco znowu wzrosła – nawet do stanu 42:27. Pod koniec pierwszej połowy dąbrowianie zanotowali jednak serię 9:0 i po trójce Macieja Kucharka przegrywali tylko dwoma punktami. Później akcję wykończył jeszcze Szubarga i dlatego po 30 minutach było 51:47.
W trzeciej kwarcie goście nie potrafili zdobyć przewagi, bo gdynianie ciągle kontrolowali sytuację. Ważne trójki trafiali Szubarga oraz Dariusz Wyka, a m.in. dzięki akcji Jakuba Garbacza było już 79:68. MKS w ostatniej części meczu robił wszystko, aby zbliżyć się do rywali. Po trafieniach Sheltona i Jovana Novaka zmniejszył straty do trzech punktów, ale długo na więcej nie chciało pozwolić Asseco. W końcówce mimo to do remisu doprowadził Aaron Broussard. Kluczowa akcja należała jednak do Szubargi – to on swoim indywidualnym wejściem pod kosz zapewnił gospodarzom zwycięstwo 89:87.
Krzysztof Szubarga zanotował w tym meczu 26 punktów i 6 asyst dla gospodarzy. D.J. Shelton zdobył 30 punktów i 16 zbiórek dla gości. Double-double w szeregach MKS zaliczył również Aaron Broussard (10 pkt, 10 zb).
MKS zanotował aż 15 zbiórek więcej od Asseco (sam Shelton miał ich 16), ale nie wystarczyło to do zwycięstwa w tym spotkaniu.
Asseco znowu korzystało ze swojej najlepszej broni – rzutów z dystansu. Tym razem gdynianie trafili 13 trójek (dla porównania MKS tylko 7).
