Jako pierwsze w nowym roku na drodze gdyńskich „Vistalek” stanęły dziewczęta z Nowego Sącza. Początek meczu był trochę rwany i nerwowy ale w 11 minucie Gdyniankom udało się odskoczyć na trzy bramki po bramce Katarzyny Janiszewskiej (6:3). Jednak konsekwentnie grające podopieczne trenerki Lucyny Zygmunt głównie dzięki bramkom dobrze w tej fazie meczu grających Karoliny Płachty i Joanny Gadziny doprowadziły do remisu (8:8), a w 25 minucie po dwóch rzutach karnych Anny Maślanki nawet objęły prowadzenie (10:11). Zawodniczki Jensa Steffensena jednak w porę zmobilizowały się i jeszcze przed przerwą odzyskały kontrolę nad meczem.

Po powrocie z szatni płkarki Vistalu szybko odskoczyły na 4 punkty (15:11), i do końca meczu utrzymywały bezpieczny dystans od swoich rywalek. Na boisku dominowała Iwona Niedźwiedź (mimo jednego przestrzelonego karnego), która zdobyła w tej odsłonie meczu 5 bramek. Sekundowała jej Patrycja Kulwińska z trzema trafieniami. Po przeciwnej stronie kroku gdyniankom próbowała dotrzymać Maślanka, która czterokrotnie pokonała świetnie spisującą się Beatę Kowalczyk.

Mimo, że gdyńskie szczypiornistki mecz kończyły w piątkę (w końcówce kary otrzymały Niedźwiedź i Agnieszka Białek) to nie pozwoliły już w końcówce sobie strzelić bramki i dowiozły pięciobramkowe zwycięstwo do końcowej syreny.

8 stycznia o godz. 18.00 w hali Gdynia Arena Vistal rozegra przelozony mecz z Energa AZS Koszalin. Będzie to rewanż za przegrany w ubiegłym sezonie brązowy medal Mistrzostw Polski.

Po zakończeniu meczu krótką rozmowę z Iwoną Niedźwiedź o niedawnych mistrzostwach świata i nie tylko odbyli Jacek GŁÓWCZYŃSKI (Przegląd Sportowy) i Ziemowit BUJKO:
