Po tie-breaku Resovia pobita!

Drużyny Trefla i Asseco Resovii rozgrywały awansem mecz 23. kolejki fazy zasadniczej PlusLigi. To było bardzo ważne dla obu ekip starcie w kontekście walki o miejsca w fazie play-off. Górą byli gospodarze, którzy wygrali po raz szósty w sezonie.

Zespół z Rzeszowa mógł pochwalić się lepszym bilansem w starciach w PlusLidze (20 wygranych na 27 meczów), lecz ostatnie spotkanie na Podpromiu wygrał zespół trenera Michała Winiarskiego 3:0.

Tym razem lepiej zaczęli goście, którzy po początkowej przewadze gdańszczan, zaczęli bardzo mocno serwować i sprawiali rywalom coraz więcej kłopotów. Mimo słabo grającego w ofensywie Macieja Muzaja, rzeszowianie wygrali pierwszą partię do 20. Głównie za sprawą świetnie dysponowanego Nicolasa Szerszenia. Wydawało się, że goście mogą zdominować Trefla, w którym widać było sporą nerwowość.

Nic bardziej mylnego, bowiem w dwóch kolejnych setach przyjezdni jakby zupełnie zapomnieli o luzie, z jakim radzili sobie w pierwszej odsłonie. Zaczęli mieć mnóstwo problemów z odbiorem serwisów rywali, a biegający Fabian Drzyzga nie był w stanie rozgrywać, mógł jedynie wystawiać. Trefl wygrał dwa kolejne sety do 19, opierając się na dwóch skrzydłowych – Bartłomieju Lipińskim i Mariuszu Wlazłym. Drużynie pomagał także po raz kolejny Karol Urbanowicz, który świetnie zagrywał.

Po kilku zmianach Asseco Resovia przebudziła się w czwartym secie, grając bez nominalnego atakującego – rolę przejął przyjmujący Klemen Cebulj. Rzeszowianie mocno zagrywali, odrzucili Trefla od siatki i wypracowali sobie przewagę, którą dowieźli do końca partii. Na boisku na tie-breaka pozostał Sam Deroo, jednak Belg ostatnio gra naprawdę bardzo słabo, w tym meczu skończył zaledwie 3 z 15 ataków. I to właśnie błąd tego przyjmującego – dał się zablokować przez pojedynczy blok Lukasa Kampy – zdecydował o tym, że Resovia przegrała w piątym secie 13:15.

Gospodarze zgarnęli bezcenną wygraną, goście kolejny raz zagrali w sposób, który trudno ocenić. Pierwszy i czwarty set to ich świetna postawa, dwie środkowe partie zupełnie im nie wyszły. Trefl z kolei dzięki temu zbliżył się do czołowej ósemki PlusLigi.
