Trefl nacierał i w końcu – po dwóch efektownych wsadach Dariousa Motena – wyszedł na prowadzenie, a kiedy trójkę dopisał Karol Gruszecki było 30:35 i o swój pierwszy czas poprosił trener Skelin. To nie zatrzymało żółto-czarnych. Po powrocie na parkiet na linii rzutów wolnych nie pomylił się Yannick, a dodatkowo trójkę dołożył Brandon, co oznaczało dwucyfrową przewagę na korzyść Trefla! Sytuację uspokoiła trójka Brandona i do końca kwarty oglądaliśmy na parkiecie wyrównaną rywalizację. Przed czwartą częścią meczu Trefl prowadził 75:63.
Start decydującej kwarty był kontynuacją tego, co widzieliśmy pod koniec poprzedniej. Najważniejszy był jednak fakt, iż to wciąż ekipa trenera Stefańskiego miała punktową inicjatywę. Istotnym momentem meczu był piąty faul podstawowego centra Twardych, Daniela Amigo. Wtedy sopocianie przyspieszyli, a punkty Yannicka oraz trójki Karola i Darrina dały im prowadzenie 87:69!
