Gdynia jest jedynym miastem w Polsce, w którym mogą się odbyć klasyczne koszykarskie derby. W sobotnie popołudnie mistrzynie Polski – VBW Arka zostały podjęte przez ich młodsze koleżanki – GTK. Od pierwszego gwizdka zdecydowaną przewagę miały faworytki, które po 20 minutach prowadziły już 46:31. Drużyna trenera Gundarsa Vetry nie forsowała tempa, a szansę gry dostały wszystkie będące w składzie zawodniczki. W kolejnych kwartach jednak, pomimo zmian, nominalne przyjezdne systematycznie dokładały po kilka oczek do wyniku. Młode koszykarki GTK, prowadzone pod nieobecność Jeleny Skerović przez Tomasza Wojdyłę, zagrały całkiem poprawne zawody, dość powiedzieć, że minimalnie w każdej kwarcie rzucały 14 punktów. Ogromną radość nielicznie zgromadzonej w hali gier GCS publiczności oraz szefostwa klubu wywołało trafienie Wiktorii Stasiak, dające gospodyniom 60 punkt. W zwycięskiej ekipie najlepiej wypadła Marissa Kastanek, która uzbierała 20 punktów. Double-double w postaci 13 punktów oraz 13 zbiórek, było dziełem Megan Gustafson. Dla rywalek 18 „oczek” rzuciła Aleksandra Parzeńska, a punkt mniej uzyskała Julia Bazan.
