Pomimo, że do końca sezonu zasadniczego zostały jedynie dwie kolejki, wciąż nie wiadomo kto pojedzie w fazie play – off. Odpowiedź na to pytanie miał przynieść mecz w Rybniku. Było wiadomo, że zwycięzca praktycznie zapewni sobie miejsce w górnej połowie tabeli. Podobnie jak w pierwszym spotkaniu w składzie ROW-u zabrakło Michaela Jepsena Jensena. W Gdańsku występ uniemożliwił mu koronawirus, a dziś przegrał rywalizację o skład z Pontusem Aspgrenem, który na początku rozgrywek w ogóle nie był brany pod uwagę przy ustalaniu składu.
W zespole gospodarzy zadebiutował Paweł Trześniewski, który niedawno skończył 16 lat. Właśnie jego postawa zrobiła różnicę w pierwszej serii startów. Oba biegi z udziałem młodzieżowca „Rekinów” zakończyły się podwójnymi wygranymi miejscowych. Inndy debiutant – Drew Kemp, zawody rozpoczął zdecydowanie słabiej. Oba biegi z jego udziałem kończyły się porażkami Zdunek Wybrzeża Gdańsk. W związku z tym menedżer Eryk Jóźwiak zdecydował się na zmianę taktyczną w ósmym wyścigu i zastąpił Brytyjczyka niepokonanym Krystianem Pieszczkiem.

W 13. wyścigu trener Jóźwiak zdecydował się na kolejną rezerwę taktyczną. W miejsce Jakuba Jamroga pojechał Jensen. Niestety tym razem manewr się nie powiódł. Gospodarze wygrali podwójnie, zapewniając sobie przy okazji wygraną i punkt bonusowy.
Jedynym pozytywem tego spotkania jest postawa Krystiana Pieszczka, który ma za sobą najlepszy mecz w tym sezonie. Wreszcie był szybki na trasie i imponował refleksem pod taśmą. Zdecydowanie zabrakło punktów liderów gdańskiego zespołu.. Kulakov i Jamróg pojechali zdecydowanie poniżej swoich możliwości. Pojawienie się w składzie Drew Kempa nie rozwiązało problemu na pozycji zawodnika U-24.
Przed drużyną Zdunek Wybrzeża ostatni mecz rundy zasadniczej. Jednak teraz, chcąc myśleć o fazie play – off gdańszczanie muszą oglądać się na rywali. Duże znaczenie będzie miało spotkanie w Bydgoszczy, gdzie miejscowa Abramczyk Polonia zmierzy się z Cellfast Wilkami Krosno
Z ostatniej chwili:
Na szczęście bydgoszczanie przegrali 37:41. W ostatniej kolejce trzeba jednak pokonać Unię Tarnów i liczyć na słabszy występ bydgoszczan w Ostrowie. Bonus czerwono-biało-niebieskim odebrać może chyba tylko jakiś kataklizm (wygrali w Tarnowie różnicą 20 oczek), zatem zwycięstwo nad Jaskółkami, przy jednoczesnej porażce zawodników z Bydgoszczy w Ostrowie da upragniony awans do play-off.
Bieg po biegu:
1. Jensen, Logachev, Jamróg, Gomólski 2:4
Od początku dużo się działo. Start wygrał Gomólski, ktory już na wyjściu z pierwszego łuku spadł na koniec stawki. Nasza para niemal scaliła się w pierwszym wirażu i przy bandzie wyszła na podwójne prowadzenie. Na trasie szybki był Logachev, który minał Jamroga. Jensen uciekł daleko do przodu i odniósł pewną wygraną.
2. Trześniewski, Tudzież, Gryszpiński, Szczotka 5:1 (7:5)
Tym razem para gospodarzy zdecydowanie lepiej wyszła spod taśmy. Emocje w tym wyścigu skończyły się już na pierwszym okrążeniu. Pewna wygrana pary gospodarzy.
3. Pieszczek, Trofimow, Kulakov, Aspgren 2:4 (9:9)
Atomowy start Krystiana Pieszczka, który zamknął wszystkich rywali w szcycie łuku i uciekł daleko do przodu. Kulakov przez cały wyścig naciskał na Trofimowa, ale nie udało mu się go wyprzedzić. Aspgren nie liczył się w walce.
4. Holta, Trześniewski, Kemp, Szczotka 5:1 (14:10)
Szybka odpowiedź gospodarzy, którzy nie dali szans naszej parze, wygrywając z ogromną przewagą. Przerwa na kosmetykę toru.
5. Logachev, Trofimow, Kemp, Jamróg 5:1 (19:11)
Lepszy start pary gospodarzy. W początkowej fazie wyścigu Kemp jechał w kontakcie z Trofimowem, ale później zawodnicy ROW-u powiększali przewagę. Jamróg daleko z tyłu.

Kolejny bardzo dobry start Pieszczka i pewna wygrana. Jensen przez większość wyścigu próbował minąć Aspgrena, ale Szwed umiejętnie się bornił.
7. Holta, Kulakov, Gomólski, Gryszpiński 4:2 (25:17)
Kulakov i Gomólski stoczyli zaciętą walkę o drugą lokatę na pierwszym okrążeniu. Z całego zamieszania skorzystał Holta, który uciekł daleko do przodu. Gryszpiński dobrze wystartował, ale rywale bardzo szybko sobie z nim poradzili. Przerwa na kosmetykę toru.
8. Pieszczek, Aspgren, Jamróg, Trześniewski 2:4 (27:21)
Rezerwa taktyczna Pieszczek w miejsce Kempa. Kolejny znakomity start Pieszczka. Nasz wychowanek pomknął do mety po trzecią wygraną. Przez cały wyścig Jamróg naciskał Aspgrena, ale nie był wystarczająco szybki.
9. Jensen, Holta, Gomólski, Pieszczek 3:3 (30:24)
Tym razem Pieszczek został na starcie i nie był w stanie minąć na trasie rywali. Jednak znakomitym refleksem popisał się Jensen, który odniósł pewną wygraną.

Gospodarze wygrali start. Kulakov próbował minąć Trofimowa na wiele sposobów, ale nie udału mu się przeprowadzić udanego ataku na rywala. Szczotka nie liczył się w wacle. Przerwa na kosmetykę toru.

Zdecydowanie lepszy start pary ROW-u. Jensen przez cztery okrążenia naciskał na Gomólskiego i dopiął swego na ostatnim wirażu. Kemp daleko z tyłu.

Pieszczek pokazał, że ostatni wyścig to był tylko wypadek przy pracy i odnióśł pewną wygraną, po znakomitym starcie. Niestety Gryszpiński nie liczył się w walce o punkty.
13. Holta, Aspgren, Jensen, Kulakov (d4) 5:1 (47:31)
Jensen jako rezerwa taktyczna w miejsce Jamroga. Para Zdunek Wybrzeża Gdańsk nie miała nic do powiedzenia w tym wyścigu. Gospodarze wygrali z ogromną przewagą. Nieudana rezerwa taktyczna w wykonaniu naszej drużyny. Rybniczanie zapewnili sobie wygraną i punkt bonusowy.
14. Aspgren, Jamróg, Kulakov, Trofimow (d) 3:3 (50:34)
Defekt na starcie Trofimowa. Aspgren po walce na pierwszym łuku z Jamrogiem uciekł daleko do przodu. Kulakov dojechał do mety daleku z tyłu.
15. Holta, Jensen, Logachev, Pieszczek 4:2 (54:36)
Po starcie nasza para wyszła na podwójne prowadzenie, ale po chwili wszystko się zmieniło. Pieszczek spadł na koniec stawki. Holta bez problemu wyszedł na prowadzenie i wygrał z dużą przewagą.
