BNP Paribas Poland Open – dzień siódmy

Pierwszymi mistrzyniami pierwszego BNP Paribas Poland Open w grze podwójnej zostały Anna Danilina (Kazachstan) i Lidzia Marozava (Białoruś), które w finale pokonały 6:3, 6:2 Katerynę Bondarenko (Ukraina) i Katarzynę Piter (Polska).

Mecz zapowiadał się na bardziej wyrównany niż okazał się na korcie. Po jednej stronie siatki stanęły tenisistki mogące pochwalić się całkiem solidnymi wynikami w deblu w tym roku. W Gdyni Danilina i Marozawa zagrały razem po raz czwarty. Współpraca układa im się coraz lepiej, wcześniej ich najlepszym wynikiem był ćwierćfinał w Lyonie.

Ich rywalki z drugiej strony siatki mają bardziej imponujące CV w obu konkurencjach zawodowego tenisa. Bondarenko zdobyła dwa tytuły singlowe i cztery deblowe, w tym jeden wielkoszlemowy (Australian Open 2008). Piter, zanim dopadły ją kłopoty zdrowotne, wskoczyła do czołowej setki rankingu singlowego (95. miejsce; w deblowym była nawet na 67.), a w grze podwójnej odniosła zwycięstwo turniejowe w Palermo (2013). Jak się gra solo, też nie zapomniała – zaledwie miesiąc temu w Bad Homburg była o kilka gemów od wyeliminowania Petry Kvitovej (w trzecim secie prowadziła z przewagą przełamania). Ta sensacja, do której jednak nie doszło, długo odbijałaby się echem w światku tenisowym.

A dziś w Gdyni:

– Nie można powiedzieć, że byłyśmy blisko tytułu. Rywalki zagrały bardzo solidnie, równo, prawie nie popełniały błędów – podsumowała mecz Polka.

Mimo iż z ostatniego meczu Kasia Piter nie była zadowolona, to z całego turnieju – jak najbardziej.  Podczas konferencji prasowej podkreślała, że granie w Polsce do bezcenne doświadczenie.

 – To znakomite uczucie, kiedy ma się blisko najbliższe osoby. W tenisie na co dzień jesteśmy skazani na samotność – mówiła Piter. Nasza finalistka przyjechała do Gdyni z tatą – trenerem, a Bondarenko z mężem i dwiema córeczkami, z jedną zresztą codziennie odbijała piłkę w ramach rozgrzewki przed treningiem.

Katarzyna Piter teraz zrobi sobie kilka dni wolnego, a potem pojedzie do Rumunii szukać punktów rankingowych. Będą jej, a raczej im, bardzo potrzebne, aby mogła, mogły dostać się do US Open. Bo choć w Gdyni tytułu nie zdobyły, to grało im się tak dobrze, że chciałyby swoją przyjaźń przypieczętować dobrymi wynikami, które docenią nie tylko najbliżsi.

Słowaczka kilka dni temu odnotowała rekord sezonu w rozgrywkach WTA, walcząc z Ekaterine Gorgodze przez 3 godziny i 55 minut. Cztery gdyńskie mecze zajęły jej łącznie dziewięć godzin i trzy minuty, o wiele więcej niż rywalce. Na wyeliminowanie trzech pierwszych rywalek Zanevska potrzebowała tylko trzech godzin i dwudziestua trzech minut, co tłumaczy znacznie większe zmęczenie Słowaczki i ogromne kłopoty z utrzymaniem prowadzenia 3:0 zdobytego w obu setach.

Z każdym dniem na trybunach robiło się coraz głośniej i coraz bardziej międzynarodowo. Garstka Słowaków, gdy Kuczova częściej zdobywała niż traciła punkty, skandowała krótkie, ale motywujące „Kika! Kika!”. W każdej sytuacji jak bardziej na miejscu było „Pojd’!”, taki odpowiednik „Jazda!” Igi Świątek. A gdy ich faworytce nie szło, uspokajali, że „Ne vadi!”.

Doping słowacki nie pozostawał bez odpowiedzi. Fanów, którzy wspierali ją w języku polskim, Zanevska mogła zrozumieć, bo przecież urodziła się i wychowała w Odessie. Słychać było także okrzyki „Allez!” – krótkie i stanowcze, gdy reprezentantka Belgii traciła koncentrację na początku każdej partii.

Finał trwał godzinę i pięćdziesiąt jeden minut. Kučova fantastycznie walczyła, zostawiła na korcie całe serce za co odnotuje awans w rankingu o 30 miejsc. Od ćwierćfinałów trwał rajd nie tylko po 280 punktów rankingowych i 29 200 dolarów, ale też o pierwszy w karierze każdej z tych ośmiu zawodniczek tytuł w głównym cyklu tenisa kobiecego. To rozsądne wytłumaczenie pewnej nerwowości, z jaką Zanevska pieczętowała swe gdyńskie zwycięstwo. Belgijka przesunie się o 51 pozycji w górę i uplasuje się na 114 miejscu w klasyfikacji.

Po triumfie w BNP Paribas Poland Open, Maryna Zanevska wzięła udział w konferencji prasowej. Tenisistka opowiedziała dziennikarzom o odczuciach, planach i marzeniach.

Niedzielne spotkanie zakończyło się wynikiem 6:4, 7:6(4). W końcówce drugiej odsłony finałowego starcia z Kristiną Kuczovą, reprezentantka Belgii musiała uzbroić się w cierpliwość.

– Pod koniec meczu towarzyszył mi stres, dużo myśli pojawiło się w mojej głowie, zwłaszcza gdy nie wykorzystałam pierwszych czterech piłek meczowych. Wciąż w to nie wierzę, jestem przepełniona emocjami. Jestem bardzo dumna.

Dla 27-latki był to pierwszy triumf w turnieju głównego cyklu.

– Moje marzenie się spełniło. W tym roku mija 20 lat, od kiedy zaczęłam grać w tenisa. Ta przygoda trwa więc już długo i wiele przeszłam. Jak to mówią, ciężka praca popłaca. Teraz mogę potwierdzić, że to powiedzenie jest prawdziwe.

Maryna Zanevska już niebawem wraca do treningów, lecz znajdzie chwilę na radość z sukcesu w BNP Paribas Poland Open.

– W ramach świętowania pójdę z moimi przyjaciółkami, które zwyciężyły tutaj w deblu, do ukraińskiej restauracji. Jutro jadę do domu, spotkać się z rodziną i przyjaciółmi w Odessie. Tam również przez chwilę postaram się uczcić to zwycięstwo.

Gdynia spodobała się tenisistce także z powodu jej korzeni.

– Lubię to miasto, nie miałam wprawdzie wiele czasu na zwiedzanie, ponieważ po każdym meczu musiałam przygotowywać się do następnego, ale okolice kojarzyły mi się z Odessą, która jest położona nad Morzem Czarnym. Turniej jest bardzo dobrze zorganizowany, kibice byli wspaniali. Często czułam ich wsparcie.

Zwycięstwo w Gdyni miało dla Maryny Zanevskiej także duże znaczenie w sferze mentalnej.

– Dla mnie to duży zastrzyk energii, mogę wyciągnąć wiele wniosków. Zdałam sobie sprawę z tego, że jestem w stanie rywalizować z bardzo dobrymi zawodniczkami i mogę sprawić im problemy na korcie. To dla mnie bardzo ważne, po 20 latach zaczęłam w siebie wierzyć.

Na pytanie, czy ten sukces odmieni jej życie, odpowiedziała:

– Nie zmieni to mojego życia, ale doda motywacji do dalszej pracy. Kilka dni odpocznę, ale potem powrócę do rzeczywistości, czyli do ciężkiej pracy.

Wynik osiągnięty w Polsce wpłynie też na plany startowe reprezentantki Belgii. Skok rankingowy pozwoli jej na start w większej liczbie turniejów.

– Jadę na US Open. Dzięki wygranej w Gdyni, niewykluczone, że będę też mogła wziąć udział w turniejach poprzedzających, na przykład w Cincinnati i Chicago.

Tenisistka nie wiedziała, na które miejsce w klasyfikacji awansuje w poniedziałek. Przyznała bowiem, że gdy kiedyś regularnie śledziła zmiany w rankingu, działało to na nią negatywnie.

– Kiedyś bardzo stresowałam się punktami i rankingiem, nie popełnię znowu tego błędu. Muszę jeszcze poprawić wiele aspektów gry i na tym się skupiam.

Równolegle do turnieju BNP Paribas Poland Open rozgrywane są igrzyska olimpijskie w Tokio. Nie powinno zaskakiwać, że udział w turnieju olimpijskim jest jednym z marzeń tenisistki.

– Dla każdego sportowca celem jest regularna gra w turniejach wielkoszlemowych i awans do czołowej setki rankingu. Marzeniem jest także udział w Igrzyskach Olimpijskich. Nie chcę jednak nakładać na siebie presji. Zabieram z tego doświadczenia tylko pozytywne rzeczy.

Błyskawicznie wysprzątano kort i przygotowano go do dekoracji zwyciężczyń. Stosowne przemowy wygłosili Tomasz Świątek, prezes firmy Tennis Consulting organizatora turnieju oaz Marcin Matkowski, dyrektor wydarzenia. W imieniu władz Gdyni wiceprezydent Marek Łucyk podziękował oganizatorom i uczestnikom i zaprosił do Gdyni za rok.

I weszcie oddano głos bohaterkom wieczoru – zawodniczkom.

Kristina Kučowa pogratulowała rywalce i podziękowała za wsparcie publiczności. Nie zapomniała o grupce swoich rodaków, którzy mocno i wyraziście ją dopingowali.

Maryna Zanevska doceniła swoją przeciwniczkę, którą skomplementowała, życząc jej dalszych sukcesów. Nie zapomniała także o gdyńskiej publiczności.

Obie finalistki otrzymały pamiątkowe patery oaz po dużej butli szampana od jednego ze sponsorów imprezy.
