Po 20 minutach gry w Gdyni pachniało sensacją. Ślęza Wrocław prowadziła bowiem z mistrzyniami Polski różnicą 11 punktów (!).

Bardzo dobrze spotkanie z gdyńską VBW Arką rozpoczęła drużyna trenera Arkadiusza Rusina, która w 6 minucie gry prowadziła 14:6. W kolejnych akcjach w dalszym ciągu przyjezdne pokazywały się z bardzo dobrej strony w ataku, a punkty Niny Dedić, Stephanie Jones czy też Anny Jakubiuk budowały coraz to większą przewagę (24:13). W drugiej kwarcie gospodynie wygranym fragmentem (9:2) zbliżyły się na cztery „oczka” – (29:33), jednak Ślęza nie przestraszyła się i skutecznie odpowiedziała. Po 20 minutach na 11 – punktowym prowadzeniu były przyjezdne (40:29), co było ogromną niespodzianką.

Zmiana stron i reprymenda trenera Gundarsa Vetry, podziałała na zespół z Pomorza już w trzeciej kwarcie. Trafienia Laury Miskieniene, Marissy Kastanek oraz Alice Kunek w 180 sekund praktycznie zniwelowały wszystkie straty (40:41), by chwilę później po kolejnym trafieniu Kastanek osiągnąć już remis (po 43). Od tego momentu seria (6:0) pozwoliła na złapanie oddechu zawodniczkom VBW Arki, która na ostatnią kwartę wyszła z 3 – punktowym prowadzeniem. Były mistrz Polski z Wrocławia w ostatnich 10 minutach próbował jeszcze wyjść na prowadzenie, jednak kluczowe dla losów spotkania były dwa z rzędu trafienia Kamili Podgórnej zza linii 6,75 dające wynik (65:54) w 35 minucie meczu.

Bardzo duży udział w zwycięstwie miała także Marissa Kastanek, która rzuciła 17 punktów (5×3), Artemis Spanou – 16. Double double zaliczyła Laura Miskiniene (14 punktów, 10 zbiórek). Gdynianki kolejny raz musiały radzić sobie bez swojej kapitan – Babory Balintovej. Dla wrocławianek najwięcej punktowały: Stepanie Jones – 16 punktów i Anna Jakubiuk – 13.
