Pary Pucharu Polski kobiet rozlosowane!

W samo południe 8 lutego, w Gdynia Arena rozlosowane zostały pary ćwierćfinałowe Suzuki Pucharu Polski, który rozegrany zostanie od 5 do 7 marca br. W losowaniu udział wzięli: Marcin Korpolewski – członek Zarządu Polskiego Związku Koszykówki, Mikołaj Matsumoto – Dyrektor Marketingu SUZUKI MOTOR POLAND, Marek Łucyk – wiceprezydent Gdyni ds. rozwoju oraz Bogusław Witkowski – prezes VBW Arka Gdynia, gospodarza imprezy.

VBW Arka Gdynia oraz CCC Polkowice, które swoją rywalizację rozpoczną od półfinałów, są zespołami rozstawionymi.

W pierwszym ćwierćfinale Pszczółka Polski-Cukier AZS-UMCS Lublin zmierzy się z PolskaStrefaInwestycji Enea Gorzów Wlkp., w drugim natomiast wicemistrz Polski Basket 25 Bydgoszcz podejmie najlepszą drużynę po pierwszej rundzie w I lidze – SKK Polonię Warszawa. Oba spotkania 1/4 finału odbędą się w piątek (5 marca). W sobotnich półfinałach do gry wkroczą VBW Arka Gdynia oraz CCC Polkowice.

VBW Arka Gdynia– to jedna z najbardziej utytułowanych drużyn w Polsce, 12-krotny Mistrz Polski, 9-krotny zdobywca Pucharu Polski oraz 2-krotny wicemistrz Euroligi i klubowy wicemistrz świata. Zespół niepokonany w Energa Basket Lidze Kobiet łącznie już od 35 spotkań! W ubiegłym roku drużyna zdominowała po raz kolejny ekstraklasowe parkiety. W zespole grają m.in. Laura Miskiniene, Alice Kunek, Marissa Kastanek, Artemis Spanou czy też Barbora Balintova i Angelika Slamova. Te trzy ostatnie w miniony weekend wywalczyły ze swoimi drużynami narodowymi (Grecją i Słowacją) awans na EuroBasket!

Pszczółka Polski-Cukier AZS-UMCS Lublin – to drużyna, która nieprzerwanie od 2014 roku występuje w najwyższej klasie rozgrywkowej w Polsce. Największym dokonaniem lubelskich Pszczółek było wywalczenie Pucharu Polski w 2016 roku, wówczas ich trenerem był Krzysztof Szewczyk. Po nim schedę przejął Wojciech Szawarski, jednak Szewczyk wrócił na sezon 2019/2020 i ponownie zapisał się w historii, zajmując z zespołem 4. miejsce w lidze. Obecne rozgrywki, nie bez przyczyny, napawają jeszcze większym optymizmem. Aktualnie lublinianki są na 3. pozycji w tabeli, a sezon wkracza w decydującą fazę. Czy trener Szewczyk i jego podopieczne ponownie przejdą do historii. Pierwszą okazją ku temu będzie Puchar Polski w Gdyni!

CCC Polkowice– rozgrywa obecnie swój dwudziesty sezon w ekstraklasie. W ciągu tego czasu klub trzykrotnie sięgał po mistrzostwo Polski, a także po 3 srebrne i 3 brązowe medale. Klubowe trofea wzbogacają także 3 Puchary Polski. Polkowicka drużyna wielokrotnie reprezentowała polską koszykówkę w europejskich rozgrywkach, dwukrotnie awansując do najlepszej ósemki Euroligi. W obecnym sezonie zespół na 16 rozegranych meczów przegrał tylko raz (z VBW Arką Gdynia) i jest wymieniany w ścisłym gronie kandydatów do podium Energa Basket Ligi Kobiet.

PolskaStrefaInwestycji Enea Gorzów Wielkopolski– w ostatnich sezonach EBLK sięgnęła po srebrny i brązowy medal. W tym sezonie drużyna prowadzona przez trenera Dariusza Maciejewskiego ponownie zapowiada walkę o najwyższe cele w nasze lidze. „Nasz rodzynek w Europie”, bo to właśnie drużyna z Gorzowa jako jedyna z Polski pozostała w walce na europejskich parkietach i w 1/16 EuroCup zmierzy się z włoską Reyer Venezia. Silny kwartet zagranicznych koszykarek: Megan Gustafson – Shatori Walker-Kimbrough – Borislava Hristova – Cheridene Green w połączeniu z doświadczonymi polskimi koszykarkami: Katarzyna Dźwigalska – Agnieszka Kaczmarczyk – Agnieszka Szott-Hejmej – Dominika Owczarzak to jeden z kandydatów do walki o medale w play-off EBLK, a na co będzie stać PolskaStrefaInwestycji Enea Gorzów w Pucharze Polski? W historii klubu trzy srebrne medale i trzy brązowe mistrzostw Polski seniorek, do tego cały worek medali młodzieżowych, ale Pucharu Polski ciągle brak. Czy uda się go wywalczyć w tym sezonie?

KS Basket 25 Bydgoszcz – klub istniejący od 1994 roku, plasujący się w czołówce rozgrywek ekstraklasy od 2013 roku. W swoim dorobku ma 6 medali – 4 srebrne oraz 2 brązowe. Obecnie, w ramach utworzonej piramidy szkolenia, zapewnia rozwój zawodniczkom praktycznie od etapy nauki i zabawy w koszykówkę, po grę w seniorskim zespole w EBLK. W ostatnim czasie zespół stracił swoją największą gwiazdę – Janeesę Jeffery, która uległa poważnej kontuzji, jednak w dalszym ciągu w zespole jest „moc” mająca dać ponownie walkę o ligowe medale.

SKK Polonia Warszawa – drużyna z Warszawy świętuje w bieżącym roku 96. urodziny istnienia sekcji żeńskiej koszykówki. Udział w nadchodzącym turnieju finałowym Suzuki Puchar Polski Kobiet koszykarki SKK Polonia Warszawa zawdzięczają swojej doskonałej postawie w rozgrywkach 1. ligi w bieżącym sezonie – po 16 kolejkach są wciąż niepokonane, jak również ustanowiły nowy klubowy rekord: 21 ligowych zwycięstw z rzędu! Koszykarki Polonii uczestniczyły w historycznym pierwszym turnieju o Puchar Polski w 1934 roku, wygrywając te rozgrywki. Ostatnio zaszły najwyżej w 1991 r., gdy uległy dopiero w finale drużynie ŁKS Łódź. Po 22 latach przerwy Polonia Warszawa wraca do grona finalistów – na razie jako przedstawiciel I ligi.

Na temat wyników losowania wypowiedzieli się także główni szkoleniowcy dwóch drużyn, które swoją rywalizację rozpoczną od fazy półfinałowej:

Gundars Vētra –Myślę, że nasza strona drabinki jest silniejsza niż druga. Uważam, że drużyny z Gorzowa Wielkopolskiego i Lublina grają dobrą koszykówkę, są także teraz w dobrej formie. To jest Suzuki Puchar Polski, tylko jeden tytuł, nie ma drugiego i trzeciego miejsca. Jeśli chcesz wygrać, musisz wygrać wszystko. Jesteśmy gotowi na finał i miejmy nadzieję, że do niego się dostaniemy i będziemy gotowi na tę drużynę, która również się tam zakwalifikuje. Ale na początku czeka nas półfinałowe starcie i na pewno nie będzie to łatwy mecz.

Karol Kowalewski – Przede wszystkim cieszymy się z samego udziału w Suzuki Pucharze Polski, bo jest to święto żeńskiej koszykówki. Na pewno udział bezpośrednio w półfinale jest nagrodą dla nas za dotychczas wykonaną pracę, jednak chcielibyśmy powalczyć o finał. Będzie to tez dobre przetarcie przed faza play-off.

Suzuki Puchar Polski Kobiet rozgrywany jest w formie turnieju z udziałem sześciu drużyn. Cztery pierwszego dnia zagrają w ćwierćfinałach, dwie kolejne dołączą w fazie półfinałowej (uczestnik EuroLeague Women i drużyna najwyżej sklasyfikowana w tabeli Energa Basket Ligi Kobiet po 11 rozegranych kolejkach rundy zasadniczej.
