W Gdyni spotkały się ze sobą dwa zespoły, które w tym sezonie nie poczuły jeszcze smaku zwycięstwa. Teraz „ktoś” musiał tę fatalną passę przerwać.

Zespół Jeleny Skerovic po bardzo dobrze rozegranej szczególnie drugiej kwarcie, prowadził (35:21) i był zdecydowanie lepiej dysponowany niż rywalki. Enerdze nie wychodziło nic, a proste straty były „wodą na młyn” dla młodych koszykarek z GTK.

Po zmianie stron jednak coś się w grze młodych gdynianek zacięło, a drużyna z Torunia mozolnie odrabiała straty. Po trafieniu Helgi Sarah Sagerer Katarzynki traciły w 30 minucie już tylko siedem „oczek” (46:39). W ostatniej kwarcie celny rzut Magdaleny Ziętary na 6 minut i 45 sekund przed końcową syreną zniwelował straty do jednego punktu (49:48). Najlepsza w drużynie gospodyń Marta Marcinkowska trafiła zza łuku i znów GTK odskoczyło na 4 oczka. Przełomowym momentem meczu była strata Emily Kalenik po wygranej przez nią zbiórce w obronie na 2:46 minuty przed końcową syreną przy wyniku 52:48. Za trzy punkty trafiła Kirby Burkholder, a po chwili poprawiła za dwa i były uczestnik Euroligi wyszedł na prowadzenie (52:53). Ostatnie 120 sekund to gra nerwów i błędów z obu stron, lecz mniej ich popełniły koszykarki z Torunia i porażka GTK 52:55 stała się faktem. Przyjezdne do sukcesu poprowadziła zdobywczyni double double (17 punktów, 15 zbiórek) Helga Sarah Sagerer.

Zmagania młodszych koleżanek z trybun obserwowały zawodniczki Arki: Sonja Greinacher, Aldona Morawiec i Marissa Kastanek, której towarzyszył uroczy, 3-letni piesek Amos. Obecny był także trener Gundars Vetra.
