Wówczas przyczyną była żałoba po zamordowaniu Prezydenta Pawła Adamowicza. Obecnie halę przed kibicami zamknął koronawirus. W takiej atmosferze rozegrano awansem mecz 25 kolejki PLUS Ligi Trefl Gdańsk – Aluron Virtu CMC Zawiercie. Gładkie zwycięstwo 3:0 odniosły gdańskie lwy.

W I rundzie Trefl wygrał w Zawierciu w trzech setach, a teraz powtórzył ten rezultat. Przewaga zespołu trenera Michała Winiarskiego nie podlegała dyskusji. W dwóch pierwszych partiach już na początku gospodarze wypracowywali się kilkupunktową przewagę. Bardzo dobrze w zespole Trefla funkcjonowała zagrywka z której przyjęciem zawiercianie mieli duże problemy. Nieco emocji było w odsłonie trzeciej, gdzie początkowo przeważali goście. Zespół Jurajskich Rycerzy wygrywał 8:6 i stanął. Gdańszczanie zdobyli z rzędu cztery punkty i wyszli na prowadzenie, którego nie oddali już do końca. Raz za razem rywali karcił zagrywką Paweł Halaba, który tym elementem gry zdobył w całym spotkaniu 7 punktów i przewaga Trefla rosła jak na drożdżach. Gospodarze wygrywali 17:13 i wydawało się, że łatwo znów dokończą tego seta i mecz. Tymczasem dopadła ich mała „zadyszka”, co wykorzystali goście, wygrywając cztery kolejne piłki i doprowadzając do remisu. Skutecznie gasił zapędy gospodarzy Mateusz Malinowski. Niemoc w szeregach gdańszczan przełamał jednak Pablo Crer skutecznymi atakami ze środka i po chwili Trefl odzyskał czteropunktowe prowadzenie. Tym razem gdańszczanie nie pozwolili rywalom się dogonić i zamknęli wynik na 25:20, a całe starce na 3:0.

MVP meczu został Paweł Halaba, który zdobył 15 punktów i znakomicie zagrał w przyjęciu (65% pozytywne, 41% perfekcyjne).

Tym spotkaniem zawodnicy Michała Winiarskiego zakończyli domową część sezonu zasadniczego. Do rozegrania zostało im jedno wyjazdowe starcie 2 marca w Rzeszowie. Wcześniej, w najbliższy weekend wezmą udział w Final Four Pucharu Polski, w którym w katowickim spodku w pierwszym meczu zagrają z ZAKSĄ Kędzierzyn-Koźle.
