Pamięć Brunona Bendiga uczczona po raz siódmy!

W gościnnych progach Centrum Kształcenia Zawodowego i Ustawicznego w Gdyni, pod patronatem prezydenta miasta Wojciecha Szczurka odbył się VII Memoriał Brunona Bendiga.

Honorowym gościem zawodów był mistrz olimpijski z Tokio, z roku 1964, Marian Kasprzyk. Mistrz z uwagą obserwował walki i z uznaniem wyrażał się o ich poziomie.

W VII edycji turnieju wzięły udział zespoły z Litwy, Czech oraz Zawisza Bydgoszcz , Cristal Białystok, Gwardia Szczytno, Pirs Olsztyn, Tygrys Elbląg, Kontra Elbląg, Czarni Słupsk, Garda Wicko, Wilk Kościerzyna,Wisła Tczew, Beniaminek Starogard Gdański, Sako Gdańsk, Sako Gdynia, UKS Nowi Polnica i gospodarz Bombardier Gdynia.

Odbyło się 13 walk turniejowych oraz 20 walk towarzyskich. Łącznie w turnieju skrzyżowało rękawice 70 zawodniczek i zawodników.

Poziom walk był bardzo wysoki. Często były one zacięte i wyrównane. Sędziowie mieli duże problemy z ich oceną, stąd aż pięć walk memoriałowych zakończyło się niejednogłośnym werdyktem.

Najlepszą zawodniczką turnieju została uznana Aleksandra Mądraszewska, reprezentująca „Bombardiera”, która w wadze junior 51 kg, przed czasem wygrała z Magdaleną Kempą z Zawiszy Bydgoszcz. Najlepszym zawodnikiem z Gdyni został pięściarz „Bombardiera” Aleksander Brągoszewski, który w wadze kadet 70 kg, na punkty 2:1 pokonał Błażeja Dunajskiego z „Beniaminka” Starogard Gdański.
MVP całego turnieju wybrany został także reprezentant gospodarzy turnieju, „Bombardiera” Gdynia Oskar Nguyen Canh, który w wadze do 69 kg przez RSC w I rundzie pokonał Dawida Dysarza z „Wisły” Tczew.
