Początek należał do gdynian, w bramce których wspaniale spisywał się Maciej Pieńczewski. Gdyby jego koledzy mieli taką skuteczność w ataku, jak on w defensywie, to o wynik moglibyśmy być spokojni. Mimo to przyjezdni od początku, za sprawą Adama Lisiewicza, prowadzili. Miejscowi przełamali się około 10 minuty, gdy gola zdobył z karnego Dawid Krysiak. W pewnym momencie przewaga gości sięgnęła nawet trzech trafień (4:7). Pogoni jednak udało się zredukować tę przewagę, a Mateusz Zaremba ustalił wynik pierwszej odsłony meczu na 9:9.
Po wznowieniu gry nadal przeważali przyjezdni, choć Pogoń nie dawała rywalom odskoczyć. Zaczął trafiać Paweł Krupa i w 40 minucie szczecinianie wyszli na prowadzenie. Losy meczu zaczynały się odwracać i teraz to Arka była w odwrocie. Miejscowi coraz to powiększali dystans, który urósł już do czterech bramek (19:15). W tym momencie przebudziła się Arka. Mecz stał się nerwowy i dramatyczny, chwilami brutalny. Za faul na Robercie Kamyszku bezpośrednią czerwoną kartkę otrzymał Adam Wąsowski. Arka tymczasem doprowadziła do remisu po 19. Niestety, z rzutu karnego nie pomylił się Krysiak, a Marek Bartosik nie pozwolił się już przyjezdnym pokonać. Trzy punkty zostały zatem w Szczecinie.
