Wówczas długie podanie w pole karne posłał Michał Nalepa, a po kiksie Suareza na krótką szarżę prawą stroną zdecydował się Ruben Jurado. Jego strzał odbił bramkarz Górnika, ale wprost pod nogi nadbiegającego Damiana Zbozienia, a ten celnym strzałem lewą nogą dopełnił formalności.

Górnicy byli na papierze faworytem podczas meczu w Gdyni mimo remisu z Lechią w poprzedniej kolejce. Arka nie chciała dać za wygraną, wiatru w żagle dodało jej wysokie wyjazdowe zwycięstwo w Kielcach. Podopieczni Leszka Ojrzyńskiego często prezentują również wysoką formę w meczach z prestiżowymi rywalami – najlepiej dowodzą tego starcia pucharowe „żółto-niebieskich”. 

Obydwie ekipy stworzyły sobie sporo szans na strzelenie gola, lecz piłka nie chciała znaleźć drogi do siatki. Często piłkarze zwyczajnie pudłowali (tylko 7 uderzeń na 32 możemy zakwalifikować jako celne), kilkukrotnie interweniowali dobrze dysponowani bramkarze. W miarę dobrze spisała się defensywa Arki, podarowali rywalom wyłącznie jedną groźną okazję w 19 minucie, jednak Pavels Steinbors poradził sobie z nią wyśmienicie. Nie bez przyczyny Łotysz jest często porównywany do komiksowych superbohaterów. Resztę sytuacji, przy których serca kibiców zgromadzonych na stadionie w Gdyni zabiły mocniej, przyniosły stałe fragmenty gry. W tym aspekcie z dobrej strony zaprezentował się Rafał Kurzawa – podczas jednego z rzutów wolnych mocno podkręcona piłka niemalże wpadła do siatki, jednak powstrzymał ją słupek. Pod koniec spotkania większość widzów spodziewała się zapewne remisu ze wskazaniem, lecz ci wierzący aż do końcowego gwizdka zostali wynagrodzeni. 92 minuta na zegarze, długie podanie Michała Nalepy, Dani Suarez potyka się, do piłki dopada Ruben Jurado, ściąga na siebie uwagę obrońców Górnika. Strzał Hiszpana z ostrego kąta obronił Tomasz Loska, jednak niespodziewanie tuż pod bramką zabrzan znalazł się Damian Zbozień i przemienił remis ze wskazaniem w zwycięstwo. Prawy obrońca Arki po raz kolejny udowodnił swoją wysoką formę. Warto podkreślić również, że to właśnie defensor „żółto-niebieskich” jest najlepszy w ekstraklasowej klasyfikacji kanadyjskiej spośród podopiecznych Leszka Ojrzyńskiego. Damian Zbozień był bezpośrednio zaangażowany w 6 bramek. Przy połowie asystował, a kolejne trzy gole to jego własne trafienia. 

Arkowcy wyśmienicie pożegnali na swoim obiekcie 2017 rok. Następnym gościem na Stadionie Miejskim będzie Lech Poznań, ale na to przyjdzie czas dopiero w połowie lutego. Zawodnicy z Gdyni rozpoczną jednak okres przygotowawczy już w styczniu. Ciężka praca na treningach przynosi sukcesy, których pozostaje życzyć Arce w nadchodzącym roku.
