W spotkanie to pewniej weszli siatkarze LOTOSU Trefla Gdańsk (2:0), ale po asie serwisowym Wojciecha Żalińskiego radomianie wyszli na dwupunktowe prowadzenie (13:11). Trener Andrea Anastasi zmuszony był do wzięcia przerwy. Blok na Żalińskim wyrównał stan seta (19:19). Końcówka należała jednak do gości. Po błędzie serwisowym Damiana Schulza trzeciego już swojego asa w tym secie posłał na stronę rywali Żaliński i to on i jego koledzy mogli cieszyć się z triumfu w pierwszej partii.

Druga odsłona była wyrównana do stanu 7:7. Przy stanie 11:10 przyjezdni przekroczyli linię środkową i wówczas doszło do dużego zamieszania. Kilka minut przeciągały się dyskusje z arbitrami graczy i trenerów obu drużyn. Skończyło się na żółtej kartce dla LOTOSU Trefla. Punkt przyznano gospodarzom. Przerwa jednak gorzej wpłynęła na ekipę gości. Na dłużej w polu zagrywki zagościł Mateusz Mika (16:10). Tej szansy siatkarze LOTOSU Trefla Gdańsk nie wypuścili już z rąk. Ostatni punkt zdobył atakiem Schulz (25:18).

Na początku trzeciej części gry skutecznym atakiem popisał się Bartosz Gawryszewski (3:2). A zaraz potem Schulz i Mika zablokowali ataki gości, co dało miejscowym trzypunktową przewagę. Błędy tych samych siatkarzy i seria asów serwisowych gości szybko odwróciła jednak sytuację i to radomianie prowadzili już 7:10, gdy o czas poprosił trener Anastasi. Dało to remis (11:11) po asie Dmytro Pashytsky’ego, ale goście znów odskoczyli. Po atakach Jakuba Ziobrowskiego i bloku Emanuela Kohuta dystans wynosił już 5 oczek i podopieczni Roberta Prygiela pewnie kroczyli po wygraną w tej odsłonie. Wówczas zagrywkę zepsuł Ziobrowski, a Mika i Michał Masny przybliżyli swój zespół do rywala na dwa punkty. Mimo zrywu radomian, to miejscowi zachowali w końcówce więcej zimnej krwi i wygrali 25:23.

Odwrócenie losów przegranej partii dodało gdańszczanom skrzydeł i kolejną rozpoczęli od skutecznych ataków Schulza. Potem jednak gra się wyrównała. Prowadzenie przechodziło z rąk do rąk. Od stanu 8:8 przyjezdni skuteczne ataki przeplatali psutymi zagrywkami. Chwilę później swoje pięć minut miał znów Gawryszewski. Po jego bloku i ataku gdański zespół wyszedł na dwupunktowe prowadzenie (16:14), którego już nie oddał. Seta i mecz zakończył Szymon Romać atakiem i asem serwisowym.
