Styl jaki prezentowaliśmy napawa optymizmem. Myślę, że idealnie trafimy z formą na imprezę mistrzowską, jednak tak naprawdę wszystko zweryfikuje bytomski lód. Będzie to 3 występ naszej drużyny na najwyższym poziomie. Do tej pory dwukrotnie zajmowaliśmy najgorsze dla sportowca, czwarte miejsce. Po cichu liczymy, że uda nam się w końcu przywieść upragnione medale – oby złotego koloru .
Rywalizacja w Bytomiu rozpocznie się w czwartek od samego rana. 16 zespołów drogą losowania zostało podzielone na 4 grupy, w których obowiązuje system “każdy z każdym”. Następnie dwie najlepsze awansują do ćwierćfinałów, a ostatnia walczy w meczu o utrzymanie.
Gdyński Klub Hokejowy trafił do grupy D, a jego przeciwnikiem będą Sigma Katowice, Górale Nowy Targ i Podhale Nowy Targ. Grupa wygląda na wyrównaną, a najgroźniejszym przeciwnikiem będzie zespół Sigmy (Mistrz Polski 2014).

Niestety, w trzecim spotkaniu zostali pokonani przez drugą nowotarską drużynę, Podhale 2:4 i zajęli w swojej grupie trzecie miejsce, dzięki zwycięstwu w bezpośrednim spotkaniu nad Sigmą. Z grupy „D” do dalszych gier awansowali Górale i Podhale.
