W pierwszej połowie zwłaszcza ciężko było dostrzec, co dzieje się w okolicach bramek. Po przerwie opar opadł, ale deszcz lał przez całe spotkanie. Niektóre miejsca na boisku zamieniły się kałuże. Woda rozbryzgiwała się praktycznie przy każdym kopnięciu piłki, a ta często wyczyniała na boisku trudne do przewidzenia harce. To nagle dostawała niesamowitego poślizgu, to znów bez powodu, wypuszczona przed siebie przez zawodnika, nagle się zatrzymywała. Zawodnicy wykonujący wślizgi też musieli bardzo uważać, gdyż niezamierzenie mogli wyrządzić rywalowi dużą krzywdę. Na szczęście obyło się bez poważniejszych urazów.
Arka chciała podtrzymać zwycięską passę i od początku ruszyła do ataku. W 12. minucie z dystansu strzelał Michał Nalepa, ale jego uderzenie było niecelne. Chwilę później Rafał Siemaszko nie przeciął w polu karnym mocnego dośrodkowania Marcusa da Silvy. Gdy minął pierwszy kwadrans meczu i ataki gdynian chwilowo ustały, na bramkę Konrada Jałochy ruszyli gospodarze. Po dośrodkowaniu Formeli strzelał Adrian Chomiuk, ale bramkarz Arki piłkę sparował.
Obu drużynom grę utrudniał wciąż padający deszcz i tworzące się na boisku coraz większe kałuże. Mimo to tempo gry było w końcówce pierwszej połowy szaleńcze. Gra toczyła się akcja za akcję. Tyle, że oba zespoły grały nieskutecznie. W 34. minucie Tomasz Laskowski obronił strzał Siemaszki, a kilka minut później, po drugiej stronie boiska, Mateusz Klichowicz trafił w słupek.
W pierwszej połowie najwięcej kłopotów defensywie gospodarzy sprawiał Siemaszko, którego akcje spowodowały m.in. dwie żółte kartki dla obrońców Bytovii. Piłkarz ten także po rozpoczęciu drugiej połowy był bardzo aktywny i stwarzał duże zagrożenie w okolicach pola karnego miejscowych. Pierwszy kwadrans po przerwie gra toczyła się pod dyktando Arki, ale… to Drutex-Bytovia powinna prowadzić w 59 minucie. Pozostawiony na 5 metrze od bramki Artur Formela trafił jednak w zewnętrzną część słupka. Minutę później znów groźnie w polu karnym Jałochy, ale gospodarze nie potrafili skierować piłki do siatki.
Niewykorzystane sytuacje się mszczą i 62 minucie Marcus Vinicius jest faulowany w polu karnym Bytovii, sędzia wskazuje na „wapno”, a sam poszkodowany wymierza sprawiedliwość. Arka po objęciu prowadzenia oddała inicjatywę miejscowym, a padający deszcz stawał się jej sojusznikiem, uniemożliwiając rywalom wyprowadzanie składnych akcji. W tej sytuacji Klichowicz w 73 minucie zdecydował się na strzał z ok. 30 m. Silnie i precyzyjnie uderzona lewą nogą piłka pomimo interwencji wyciągniętego jak struna Jałochy znalazła drogę do gdyńskiej bramki.
W 73 minucie słabo grający Tadeusz Socha zatrzymał piłkę ręką i otrzymał drugą żółtą kartkę, co oznaczało, osłabienie drużyny Arki, ale paradoksalnie od tego momentu żółto-niebiescy zaatakowali i stworzyli kilka groźnych sytuacji pod bramką przeciwnika. Niestety, wynik do końca się już nie zmienił. Remis nie krzywdzi jednak żadnej z drużyn, co zgodnie na pomeczowej konferencji stwierdzili obaj trenerzy.
