Zaczęło się obiecująco od szybkiego prowadzenia 2:0 dla Vistalu. Gdańszczanki jednak szybko otrząsnęły się, wyrównały i do 20 minuty żadna z drużyn nie potrafiła wypracować sobie przewagi. Gra toczyła się bramka za bramkę. W drugim kwadransie gdynianki popełniały mnóstwo błędów, szybko i bezsensownie traciły piłkę, nie potrafiły też pokonać drugiej bramkarki AZS-u, Adrianny Sielskiej. Od 16 minuty trzykrotnie uczyniła to jedynie niezawodna Monika Kobylińska. W tym samym czasie miejscowe rzuciły siedem bramek i przed przerwą prowadziły 15:12.

Po powrocie z szatni podopieczne Jerzego Cieplińskiego za sprawą Katarzyny Skoniecznej zwiększyły prowadzenie do czterech trafień, ale żółto-niebieskie oddawały. Najpierw pierwszą swoja bramkę w meczach ligowych w barwach Vistalu zdobyła Magdalena Stanulewicz, a potem Kobylińska, Patrycja Kulwińska i Katarzyna Janiszewska w ciągu ośmiu minut uzyskały sześć trafień, na które tylko raz odpowiedziała Katarzyna Pasternak. Tym samym w 42 minucie przyjezdne ponownie objęły prowadzenie. Co prawda Marta Karwecka i Patrycja Ciura na chwilę ponownie dały liderowanie gdańszczankom, ale wówczas Kobylińska rozpoczęła kolejne „pięć minut” Vistalu. Zdobyła trzy bramki, po jednej dołożyły Janiszewska i Emilia Galińska, a dla gospodyń w tym czasie tylko raz z karnego trafiła Monika Stachowska i na siedem minut przed końcem szczypiornistki Pawła Tetelewskiego odzyskały kontrolę nad meczem. W samej końcówce obie drużyny zdobyły po dwa trafienia, a Weronika Kordowiecka obroniła rzut karny Pasternak i wynik już się nie zmienił. Vistal wygrał zasłużenie i przekonywająco, chociaż na takie „wyczyny”, jak w drugim kwadransie w kolejnym spotkaniu absolutnie nie może sobie już pozwolić. Mistrzynie Polski z Lublina, które w najbliższy weekend zjadą do Gdyni takiego prezentu bowiem nie zwykły marnować.
