Zakończył się plebiscyt na Super Stadion 2015 roku organizowany przez portal Ekstraklasa.net. Dzięki kibicom sportu w naszym mieście, najlepszym w kraju okazał się Stadion Miejski w Gdyni. Obiekt przy ulicy Olimpijskiej zdobył niemal 12 500 głosów. Po zaciętym finiszu wyprzedził ostatecznie drugi obiekt z Trójmiasta, czyli PGE Arenę. Na podium znalazł się jeszcze Stadion Miejski w Białymstoku.
O wyborze Super Stadionu nie decydowała jego wielkość czy wiek obiektu. Istotna była estetyka, wykonanie i panujący klimat. Głosowanie trwało od 23 marca do 12 kwietnia. W tym czasie prowadzenie zmieniało się kilkukrotnie, ale to właśnie na Stadion Miejski w Gdyni oddano najwięcej, 12 495 głosów!
– Mamy najlepszą murawę, jesteśmy jednym z najbezpieczniejszych obiektów według raportów PZPN. Teraz mamy tytuł Super Stadionu. Ta nagroda jest o tyle ważna, że przyznawana przez mieszkańców i kibiców, którzy zmobilizowali się w ostatnich dniach. To pokazuje, że są dumni z obiektu – mówi Marek Łucyk, dyrektor Gdyńskiego Centrum Sportu.
Drugie miejsce w plebiscycie przypadło PGE Arenie Gdańsk, która uzyskała 11558 głosów. Ostatni na podium zameldował się Stadion Miejski w Białymstoku – 2390 głosów.
