Wesołe święta gdyńskich buldogów

Mecz rozpoczął się jednak dla gdynian nieoczekiwanie, bo już w drugiej minucie przyjezdni zdobyli przyłożenie, a następnie je podwyższyli. To zdarzenie zmobilizowało buldogów , którzy za wszelką próbowali wyrównać. Nie udało im się co prawda zrewanżować gościom przyłożeniem, ale sprokurowali sobie siedem rzutów karnych, z których aż sześć wykorzystał Dawid Banaszek. Budowlani w pierwszej połowie zanotowali tylko jeden taki element gry, co spowodowało, że na przerwę drużyny schodziły przy ośmiopunktowym prowadzeniu miejscowych.

Drugą połowę łodzianie grali nerwowo, popełniali liczne błędy, co m.in. zemściło się „karną piątką” podyktowaną za przewinienie w młynie na 5 metrze. Zdobywszy przyłożenie arkowcy zaczęli grać z rozmachem i bardziej widowiskowo. Goście natomiast ciągle paraliżowani byli przez presję. Bronili się jednak skutecznie, do czasu, gdy po przerzucie piłki na prawą stronę przyłożenie zdobył Wiktor Zaradzki. Po tym ciosie wale już się podnieśli, natomiast żółto-niebiescy byli bliscy zdobycia kolejnego przyłożenia. Na przeszkodzie stanął brak czasu. Mecz też utrudniał obu drużynom padający i siekący twarze deszcz ze śniegiem i wiatr, który w pierwszej połowie okazał się być sprzymierzeńcem gospodarzy.

Arka odniosła bardzo ważne zwycięstwo nad głównym konkurentem do upragnionego mistrzostwa Polski. Wygrana ta daje Arce nie tylko siedmiopunktową przewagę nad sobotnim rywalem, ale również przewagę psychologiczną. Po początkowym zaskoczeniu buldogi potrafiły się podnieść i odwrócić losy meczu. Tym razem nie było zwycięstwa efektownego, jak w poprzedniej kolejce z Ogniwem, ale było to zwycięstwo efektywne, wydarte przeciwnikowi i głównemu pretendentowi do złotego medalu po ciężkiej walce.

W kolejnym spotkaniu, w najbliższą sobotę o 14.30 na Górskiego 10 pojawi się gdańska Lechia, która traci do gdynian już 21 punktów. Czekają nas zatem kolejne emocje w derbach Trójmiasta.
