O krok od kompromitacji!

Rozpoczęli od prowadzenia 2:0 gospodarze, gdy A.J. Walton wykorzystał rzuty wolne. Odpowiedział niemal natychmiast trójką Marcin Malczyk, wskazując swoim kolegom drogę, którą należy pójść, by wygrać z Asseco. Koledzy podchwycili temat i powtórzyli jego wyczyn jeszcze czterokrotnie w tej kwarcie. Gdynianie mozolnie gromadzili punkty. Dopiero w samej końcówce trójki Jakuba Parzeńskiego i Przemysława Frasunkiewicza pozwoliły uzyskać trzypunktową przewagę nad gośćmi.

Prowadzenie miejscowych utrzymywało się przez około 2,5 minuty, kiedy za zdobywanie punktów zabrał się jeden z najskuteczniejszych graczy TBL, Kwamain Mitchell. Po jego lay-upie na tablicy pojawił się remis (25:25), jak się potem okazało, ostatni w tym spotkaniu. Gdynianie w tym okresie zaczęli fatalnie pudłować. Przez prawie 5 minut nie potrafili rzucić żadnych punktów. Bywało, że piłka tańczyła po obręczy wewnątrz, ale do kosza nie wpadała. Dla kutnian najwięcej oczek do przerwy zdobył Patrik Auda 17, niewiele mniej, bo 12 miał na swoim koncie wspomniany Mitchell, który trafiał tylko w drugiej kwarcie. Asseco w samej tylko drugiej kwarcie zanotowało 13 niecelnych, bądź zablokowanych rzutów z gry. Po celnej trójce Mitchella przyjezdni prowadzili do przerwy dziewięcioma punktami (37:46).

Wydawało się, że po powrocie z szatni podopieczni Davida Dedeka szybko zniwelują straty i wrócą na właściwe tory, jednak po dwóch seriach 0-10 przewaga gości wynosiła już 24 punkty (44:68). Na ich pięć trójek, żółto-niebiescy odpowiedzieli tylko jedną – Lazara Radosavljevicia. Oprócz tego Asseco w tej kwarcie trafiło jeszcze tylko cztery razy z gry (przy 12 rzutach niecelnych, lub zablokowanych). Dopiero pod koniec tej odsłony pierwsze punkty z gry zanotował Walton.

Zanosiło się na kompromitację i pogrom przed własną publicznością. Chociaż kibice ani na moment nie zwątpili i nie przestawali dopingować swoich zawodników, co po meczu docenił trener Dedek i oni sami, dziękując za wsparcie.

Czwarta kwarta rozpoczęła od trójki Mitchella, ale widać było że on, jak i jego koledzy już „oddychają rękawkami”. Krótka ławka wyraźnie odbiła się na kondycji gości dzięki temu oraz dzięki świetnej grze Filipa Matczaka udało się gdynianom uniknąć blamażu. Goście grali rozważnie i uważnie, kiedy była okazja rzucali i trafiali. Po serii Asseco 13:2 na trzy z górą minuty przed ostatnia syreną do odrobienia pozostało jeszcze tylko 12 oczek, szalał Matczak ale celne rzuty Audy i Malczyka pozwoliły gościom do końca kontrolować wynik i dowieźć bezpieczną przewagę.

W drużynie zwycięzców brylowali Mitchell i Auda, którzy zdobyli po 25 punktów oraz Kevin Johnson (13 p. i 10 zb.). W ekipie gospodarzy na swoim normalnym poziomie zagrał Ovidijus Galdikas (13 p, 8 zb.), a oprócz Matczaka wyróżnił się Kuba Parzeński, który uzyskał swoje pierwsze double-double (10 p., 10 zb.) w sezonie.

Asseco poniosło drugą porażkę na własnym obiekcie, drugi raz przegrywając z niżej notowanym w tabeli zespołem. O zwycięstwie gości zadecydowała przede wszystkim lepsza skuteczność i większa liczba trafionych rzutów za trzy punkty (14, przy zaledwie 5 gdynian). Sporo kontrowersyjnych decyzji podejmowali też sędziowie, którzy jednak częściej „mylili się” na korzyść Polfarmexu.
