Przedstawiciel Automobilklubu Morskiego sędzią wyścigu F1

Michał Piotrowicz rozpoczął sędziowanie w rajdach i wyścigach w 1999 roku w Automobilklubie Morskim w Gdyni jako sędzia klasy okręgowej, a następnie klasy państwowej. Podczas studiów doktoranckich w 2008 roku w Wielkiej Brytanii zapisał się do British Motorsport Marshals Club i British Rally Marshal Club, gdzie rozpoczął amatorską, międzynarodową karierę sędziowską.

Do ważniejszych wyścigów, w których brał udział jako sędzia, należą: FIA GT – Silverstone (2008, 2009, 2010) World Series by Renault (2008, 2009) BTCC – Silverstone (2008) Silverstone Britcar 24 Hrs (2010) American Le Mans Series – Road America (2012, 2013) SCCA National Runoffs – Road America (2011, 2012, 2013) oraz wyścigi formuły F1: British Grand Prix na Silverstone (2011, 2013) United States Grand Prix w Austin (2012, 2013) Grand Prix du Canada w Montrealu (2013) Sędziował również rajdy takie jak: WRC – Wales Rally GB, British Rally Championship, Rally America National Championship i wiele innych rajdów w USA. Za działalność sędziowską w charakterze wolontariusza otrzymał w USA wyróżnienia:
w roku 2012 Midwestern Council Corner Captain of the Year oraz Most Valuable New Member, a w roku 2013 otrzymał z klubu Madison Sports Car Club tytuł Sportsman of the Year. Na podkreślenie zasługuje fakt, że na kombinezonach używanych w czasie wyścigów i rajdów nosi naszywkę z polską flagą oraz logo Automobilklubu Morskiego.
