Pierwsze na prowadzenie wyszły chorzowianki po rzucie Jovany Jovović. Szybko jednak odpowiedziała pozyskana przez sezonem Iwona Niedźwiedź (n/z poniżej), a potem gdynianki już tylko powiększały swoją przewagę. Podczas prezentacji, która odbyła się 13 września w klubie U7 Iwona powiedziała w rozmowie z „Głosem Gdyni”: {mp3}Iwona Niedzwiedz{/mp3}

Po rzucie karnym Jovović Ruch po raz ostatni w tym meczu zbliżył się na dwie bramki (5:3). Jednak od 13 minuty nastąpiła szarża gospodyń i trwała do 24 minuty. W tym czasie podopieczne trenera Zdzisława Wąsa nie zanotowały żadnego trafienia. Prawdziwą ścianę w bramce stanowiła Beata Kowalczyk, a nie do przejścia w obronie była Tunezyjka Ines Khouildi. W 21. minucie gdynianki prowadziły już różnicą 9 oczek (13:4). Dopiero rzut karny w wykonaniu Katarzyny Sadowskiej przyniósł bramkę Ruchowi. Chwilę później fantastycznie dysponowana tego dnia Beata Kowalczyk nie pozwoliła na „powtórkę z rozrywki”. Do szatni zawodniczki schodziły przy stanie 15:8 dla Vistalu.

 

Po zmianie stron trener Jens Steffensen wprowadził na boisko praktycznie „drugi garnitur”, dając odpocząć podstawowym zawodniczkom.  Wówczas hat-trick Marleny Lesik z rzutów karnych pozwolił przyjezdnym zmniejszyć stratę do 5 punktów (16:11). Wówczas nastąpił    kolejny zryw gospodyń. W 42. minucie rzucając na 19:11 Patrycja Kulwińska wpadła na Ines Khouildi odbijając się od niej jak od ściany. Obie zawodniczki padły na parkiet, ale Tunezyjka po chwili się podniosła. Patrycja zeszła z parkietu trzymając się za okolice karku, a następnie długo leżała obok ławki rezerwowych i korzystała z pomocy fizjoterapeutów. Obydwu, ponieważ działania Tomasza Rudnika wspierał terapeuta chorzowski. Na parkiet jednak już nie wróciła, a po meczu odwieziona została do szpitala.

Na kwadrans przed końcem spotkania gdynianki osiągnęły 10- punktową przewagę (21:11), którą dowiozły do końca.  W znacznej mierze dzięki swojej kapitan Małgorzacie Gapskiej, która zastąpiła w bramce Kowalczyk z równie dobrym, jeśli nie lepszym nawet skutkiem. 30:20 to ostateczny wynik, jaki widniał na tablicy po końcowej syrenie.

 

Podczas wspomnianej prezentacji zespołu do kibiców poprzez „Głos Gdyni” zwrociła się także Katarzyna Duran. Poprosiła, by nie pompować zbytnio balonu oczekiwań. Celem nadrzędnym jest faza play-off. A potem… wszystko się może zdrarzyć. Na pewno ona sama i jej koleżanki bedą walczyć i dadzą z siebie wszystko.
